Preparing for the November general Election

Well, besides the District 13 (D13) House seat runoff, the NC primary election is now all wrapped up.  It is time to turn our attention to other activities and the general election coming up in November.  Our focus is local and energizing our voter base.

What that means for the PCGOP is that we need to move ahead with precinct engagement to grow the party, getting folks signed up for receiving our monthly Newsletter.  The precinct outreach has promised to: 1) fuel creation of necessary resolutions, and 2) energize our base to bring forward school board candidates before the registration deadline (sometime in August).  The PCGOP Exec Comm will be deciding which resolutions (among those stemming from issues identified as having importance from members in the county precincts) will be carried forward for potential acceptance at the District 13 NCGOP level.  I’ll take a quick moment to remind all our delegates that the D13 meeting is to be held on April 13th.

I shared the plans I have for the 90-day Precinct Engagement Plan during the March PCGOP meeting.  In case you missed it, or are curious as to what this entails, the Person County precinct chairs all now have lists of registered Republicans in their precincts.  I challenged them to make a connection with at least 100 Republican member households with activities that include either calling or knocking a voter’s door between the start of April to end of June.  Please let us know if you have an interest in assisting your Precinct Chair in these activities, especially the door-knocking as this is fun when done as a team.

We determined also that we will support 3 voter engagement events in the Northern, Central and Southern precincts of the county.  It looks like these events are shaping up to include an upcoming movie night at Palace Pointe (likely end of April) and an ice cream social in Roxboro (mid-May) and a third event to be held at the northern end of the county (to be hosted in June).  These 3 events will be promoted to the public which will target attracting conservative voters, including Republicans and Unaffiliated alike in any precinct across Person County.  So, please pay attention to our Calendar as these events will be scheduled soon.  Also, please plan to support us by joining in on these fun precinct-centered PCGOP community activities and invite a friend or two.

If ever there was a year to be engaged politically, most would agree that 2024 is the one.  It WILL BE an exciting general election and it’s a Presidential Election year.  With Trump as our presidential nominee and Mark Robinson as our gubernatorial nominee, we are so very excited as they are both warriors of conservatism and faith in God!  Some wonder if we’ll even get to the November election before an outbreak of the crazy Democrats losing their minds over facing candidate Trump again.  I do wonder that myself and expect they may roll out a new virus or something to get everyone paralyzed in fear.  Let me be the first to say that we welcome all reasonable and rational Democrats into the GOP!

For me, I need to remember that God tells us in His word so many times to not fear.  That is, we should not fear as voters as we approach the general election that our picks may not win.  I know I need to take that to heart, and resist being frightened by the left and their tactics, including any 'plandemics' they seek to conjure up.  So I say, to God be the glory and let’s cling to our faith, as I believe there is little doubt He is on our side.
