Statement on the Racist Stickers placed in Uptown Roxboro

I waited to make a response on the hateful and devisive act that took place in our community this past week until I had more details and facts. A heartfelt thank you to the Roxboro P.D. for their quick response and exceptional work in identifying a potential suspect. The overwhelming number of people in our community are good, hardworking, reasonable individuals no matter what their politics or ethnicity. Acts like these are committed intentionally to divide us and perpetuate hate. Please don't take the bait; we are better than that.
I am always amazed when some people are so quick to react to these kind of instances and place blame without knowing any of the facts. I quickly saw a post claiming another MAGA trick; I'm voting Blue!!! Not so fast my friend; from the limited information I have seen based on others research the individual is an Antifa supporter.
Having pride in your given Ethnicity is not a sin and every individual should be proud of their racial background and it's contribution to society. When you combine that with hateful symbols such as the Nazi Party and other hate groups that's where the problem lies. Please step back, wait on the facts to come out and let's stay united with the common goal of making Person County a better place to live for your kids, grandkids and mine. A place we can all be proud of!!!!
