As we see with President Trump

As we see with President Trump — following the election, liberals (whether democrat or RINO) are trying to make sure that people are sabotaged, and they will do everything in their power to make it difficult for the incoming administration to serve the people.  Imagine a Republican-led Senate willing to slow down needed appointment changes.  Who would have guessed that Biden would grant Ukraine the green light to escalate the war with Russia before the new Commander and Chief took over?  We don't even know where the current President is, and know who is actually running the country.  This is nationally.

At the State level there was not enough focus and resources directed to key Council of State (COS) races, nor an emphasis in the Governors race.  There will be years of litigation regarding the left's ad tactics against Robinson and others, but it will do nothing to change the election results.  Where was our NCGOP in shoring up these important races??  Buckle up NC.

Locally, we witnessed something similar.  Big money poured in to discredit opponents.  It didn't work, people are becoming more educated thanks to information sources beyond a local paper and local TV news.  Last minute maneuvers by our Board of Commissioners (BOC) plows voters by giving a sweetheart deal to a department without so much as a conversation as to the need for such an expense.  Beyond wild.  Taxpayers have yet another increase in local government spending.  As citizens and residents, I would not have guessed that they despised us so severely that they would be willing to saddle Person County taxpayers with more expenses.  Since they couldn't secure a total victory, I guess they secured the money bag.  We may need a local DOGE.

  • I hope that continued efforts in reaching out and mobilizing people of the community on issues, will result in more input which conveys the priorities and concerns of our county of residence.  As we have been doing, we are going to stick to issues.  Challenging performance and results do not equal an attack.

  • I hope the new BOC will develop a true legislative agenda that tackles important issues in our community, not just new slogans declared at the annual BOC planning retreat.

  • Everyone, elected and appointed, must be held accountable for their actions.

  • To our wonderful GOP team, believe those who know you best and love you most, when they criticize or correct you.  Consider what your haters exaggerate about you, and Trust God above all.

Let's look forward to the day when we might have true servant leadership in our community, at the county commission, the school board, our courts, and congressional and legislative delegations.
