ExComm Changes Mandated
MANDATED: PCGOP Precinct chairmen are *NOT* members of the Person County GOP Executive Committee, and therefore have *NO* right to vote in meetings of the Person County GOP Executive Committee.
ExComm Changes Mandated
On 2026-May-7, the NCGOP's Arbitration Committee issued a decree saying:
(6) Person County GOP shall operate under their County Plan of Organization adopted at the 2025 Person County Convention where not inconsistent with the 2024 NCGOP State Plan of Organization;
Point #6 quoted above, means that the Arbitration Committee did *NOT* mandate that the PCGOP resume using *ALL* sections of the PCGOP's Plan of Organization, but to resume using *only* the sections which are consistent with the NCGOP's Plan of Organization.
The prior version of the PCGOP Plan of Organization had stated that the PCGOP Precinct Chairmen were part of the Person County GOP Executive Committee, but this is not consistent with the NCGOP Plan of Organization. Consequently, the membership of the Person County GOP Executive Committee must be as specified in the NCGOP Plan of Organization!
In addition, the 2026-May-7 NCGOP Arbitration Committee decree asserts:
(2) Kathy Lawrence is the Chair of Person County GOP;
Summary: PCGOP Precinct chairmen are *NOT* members of the Person County GOP Executive Committee, and therefore have *NO* right to vote in meetings of the Person County GOP Executive Committee – and Chairwoman Lawrence1 is still in office.
