Lakeside Low Country Boil & Tribute

This event will be held on September 11, 2021 from 12 noon to 4pm in the Community Building at Lake Hyco recreation Area.

The meal includes a heaping plate of boil, hush puppies, desert and a drink of choice.

For those unfamiliar, a low-country boil typically features an outdoor cooker boiling up tasty ingredients including sausage, shrimp, crab, potatoes and corn for an all-in-one pot. Famous in the low country of Georgia and South Carolina, but we are bringing it north just a bit. Cost is $25 for single/ $45 for couples and half price for kids 12 and under.

9/11 Tribute: The day will include remembrance activities for lives lost during the 9/11 terror attack on U.S. soil. Guest speaker, Pastor Tom Newman will lead us in this time of tribute. This day marks the 20th anniversary of the tragic attack on our nation.

A word from our candidates: Rep Ted Budd and former Rep, Mark Walker are campaigning for the U.S. Senate race for the seat being vacated by NC Senator, Richard Burr.
